Smart Parts enacts policy of not servicing markers with serial numbers removed

by on Jul.22, 2006, under News, Press Releases

Taking pride in our products and the support we give our customers, and in an effort to help reduce paintball marker theft, Smart Parts does not provide warranty service on markers which do not have their original serial number intact.

Serial numbers are a valuable tool for tracking and recovering stolen paintball markers, and it is not uncommon for thieves and people who knowingly deal with stolen property to destroy or modify serial numbers in an effort to cover their tracks.

The serial number serves not only as a method for locating a marker’s rightful owner, but also for tracking any potential problems it has had through its service life, allowing for the best possible warranty support.

“We want to do everything we can to insure the integrity of each and every project manufactured by Smart Parts,” says Smart Parts vice president Adam Gardner. “To assure complete reliability, only products with original serial numbers will be accepted for warranty service by authorized service centers.”

Smart Parts has received several reliable reports that certain companies have sold Ions lacking serial numbers, telling their customers that warranty service would be provided through their business. Without serial numbers, the legal origin of these markers is in doubt and they are not eligible for Smart Parts warranty support. Be aware that any company selling Ions without serial numbers is not a Smart Parts authorized dealer or service center.

There is never a legitimate reason to ever remove a marker’s serial number. Due to the very real possibility that it may be stolen property, Smart Parts recommends that any customer receiving an Ion, or other Smart Parts paintball marker without a serial number, immediately return the marker to the place or person from which it was purchased, and report the incident to Smart Parts.

“It is important that we all work together to eliminate improper business practices,” said Gardner. “Helping to eliminate the sale of markers which are counterfeited or even stolen helps to protect all our customers.”

Smart Parts :: Announcing Smart Corps

by on Jun.13, 2006, under News, Press Releases

After years of supporting players in every aspect of the game, Smart Parts has launched the Smart Corps, the embodiment of the company’s focus on scenario and milsim paintball. The Smart Corps Command Center acts as a hub of information for players. Under the umbrella of the Smart Corps are several sections.

Tactical Squads are the Smart Parts sponsored scenario teams who compete each season for not only their best performance at big games and scenario events, but for their sponsorship as well. In much the way tournament teams are ranked over a season’s play, the Tactical Squads receive points for Most Valuable Team Awards, activities and performance. These will all play a part in bonus packages for the following year, and in removing the lowest ranked teams too, make way for new teams to join the ranks of the Tactical Squads.

Paintball players are a proud bunch and we’re proud of them! Special Forces allow players to become members receiving online recognition, stylish duds and accessories and access to Smart Corps Special Forces perks at select paintball events.

Smart Corps Special Ops lists scenario paintball events. Smart Corps members can find each other, get together and play and of course, show off their SP-8’s while destroying the competition.

The Tactical Markers section of the Command Center is devoted to Smart Parts’ newest baby, the SP-8. The electro pneumatic tactical paintball marker is taking the scenario paintball scene by storm with its professional performance and military rifle body style and we just can’t stop talking about it. Players who haven’t yet had the opportunity to get their hands on the SP-8 can take an interactive 3D virtual reality tour of its features.

The Forums on the Smart Corps site allow players to connect with one another, talk with Smart Parts employees about the game, meet team members from the Tactical Squads, discuss tactics, Smart Parts equipment, events, new products and in general hang out with folks that think like they do.

The Smart Corps was launched during the D-Day scenario game held June 10-12, 2006 in Oklahoma where several Smart Parts employees were helping service gear, playing along side of and interacting with the players.

Bill Gardner Jr. of Smart Parts said, “We love this game. If we’re in the woods, on a tournament field or talking around a staging area, this is what our lives are all about. Supporting the players is really supporting our own game, it’s an easy choice.”

Take a look at the Smart Corps today at http://SmartCorps.SmartParts.com.
